A Toxic Workplace Culture

Even though I’m retired, I still take on part-time consulting work.

Unfortunately, the professional environment is becoming increasingly problematic.

I keep hinting that I need a raise, but management refuses to engage.

You can’t see but that manager is being hands-on right now

There’s a staff member who routinely takes afternoon naps and assumes no one notices.  

Sometimes after the nap, that staff member goes out and comes back smelling of alcohol.  Management seems fine with it as long as productivity is unaffected.

One manager is weirdly “hands-on” at times, but HR has consistently ignored my concerns.

Frankly, the workplace culture has become deeply toxic.

Being self-employed is tough, man.
