LP Memories
I remember the pure joy of my monthly visits to Number 1 Record Shop in the late 80’s and early 90’s to prowl the new release section for the latest music.
There was nothing like finding the latest LP or 45 of whatever was popular, then going through the bargain bins in hope of finding a gem on the cheap.
I remember the thrill of getting home, tearing off the plastic and removing a record for the first time. Then there was the delicate process of placing the record on the turn table and dropping the needle. The initial crackles of static would enhance the delicious anticipation of waiting for the first musical notes.
While listening I would read the album liners and if I found song lyrics, it was like striking gold in the days before Google. Aaah… the memories.
By the way, does anyone want to buy a wash pan of old records that haven’t been touched in 25 years?
